Quakers-Quakers

The much-anticipated self-titled Quakers debut on Stones Throw hits the streets today, accompanied by this choppy video preview of the album below. As you probably know, the 35 member collective boasts the talents of producers Geoff Barrow aka Fuzzface (Portishead, BEAK>), Katalyst and 7-Stu-7. If you so choose, you can learn more here. Enjoy!

Numbers Not Names-Numbers Not Names

Kill the Vultures MC Crescent Moon serves up tales of hard-boiled bad cop/bad cop dystopia with cohorts Alap Momin aka Oktopus (Dӓlek), Chris Cole (Many Fingers/Third Eye Foundation) and Jean-Michel Pires (The Married Monk, Bed) in Numbers Not Names, the brainchild of Stéphane Grégoire (Ici D'Ailleurs). In the video a for their premier track of the same name, a pounding beat churns industrial amidst creeping guitar figures and bursts of pressurized angst, all mirrored in a procession of imagery unsettling yet all too familiar. Sweet dreams.
