Daft Punk-How To Make A Daft Punk Helmet In 17 Months

Having a supercool-looking helmet to make music in isn't absolutely necessary, but it doesn't hurt, especially if you're French megaproducers and you play your shows from atop a pyramid... like Daft Punk. Futuristic headgear in French electronic music is nothing new, however, popularized as it was in the 70's by bands like The Droids and Space. In this video, the GQ of the casque de l'espace gets an update, and you get a step by step reference in case you want to build your own. Bonne chance!

Erik Tinberg & Friends @ Shuga Records 7/17/10

I've been quite busy of late, but I did manage to zip down to Shuga Records for Short Circuit, an awesome monthly electronic music series curated by Logan Erickson. I was just in time to catch Erik Tinberg and friends, who opened my ears to some refreshing new sounds. As the set progressed, an amorphous expanse of textural electronics eventually assumed the form of snappy jungle breaks. I was having a blast grooving and shooting video, but had my own show to pedal off to. Until the next time!!!!!
